Ferit Şenyaşar who carries out a justice vigil with his mother outside the Urfa Courthouse met members of the Human Rights Association (IHD) and Union for Democracy (DIP).
The Justice Vigil launched in front of the courthouse in Urfa by Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons in an armed attack that involved AKP Deputy İbrahim Halil Yıldız's bodyguards and relatives, and his son Ferit Şenyaşar who was injured in the same attack, marks its 301st day. Ferit Şenyaşar, who came to Istanbul the previous day to attend a forum titled ‘We shall win if we unite against poverty, exploitation and unemployment’ organized by the United Struggle Forces, visited the Human Rights Association (IHD) Istanbul Branch to request legal support. Şenyaşar was welcomed by members of the IHD and the DIP.
'MY FATHER AND TWO BROTHERS KILLED IN PUBLIC'
Speaking during the visit, Ferit Şenyaşar explained what happened on the day of the attack and after and said that they are prosecuted but not the perpetrators. Şenyaşar recalled that his father and 2 brothers were murdered in public at a state hospital. “However, no lawsuit has been filed for 3 and a half years. Several people were killed, but there is only one person on trial. Only the elder brother of AKP deputy, İbrahim Halil Yıldız, received a jail sentence of 18 years. We are trying to make our voices heard in order to remove this unlawfulness against us. We have been carrying out a justice vigil in front of the Urfa Courthouse for more than 300 days. As part of our vigil, we keep visiting legal organizations and asking for support. However, we cannot find anybody for support."
Members of the IHD and the DIP vowed solidarity, emphasizing the importance of the Şenyaşar Family's struggle for justice.
Later on, Ferit Şenyaşar visited IHD co-chair Eren Keskin. During the meeting, Keskin noted that they would take legal action on the matter. Keskin pointed out that the Şenyaşar Family has been treated unfairly, adding that the family's struggle gives hope to the public.
