Nezir Katar, in her weekly phone call with her family, reported that their wards were raided by the guards and the Kurdish books were confiscated.

Cihan Katar, the husband of the prisoner, gave the following information: “During the phone call on Monday, Nezir said that their wards were raided by the guards who confiscated Kurdish books. In addition, the prison administration told them the remaining Kurdish books would be sent to the families. There has been a serious attack on the prisoners for years. They are persecuting them. They attack them because they are Kurdish and speak Kurdish. They want to confiscate their books and leave them isolated. Is it a crime to read a book? Why are they afraid of books?
