Based on the decisions made at the recent "Rojava Unity and Common Stance Conference" held in Qamishlo, in the Cizirê Canton, a Kurdish delegation was formed to negotiate the political and cultural rights of the Kurdish people with the Damascus government. The delegation is expected to travel to Damascus in the coming days.
Full support for the delegation came from leading figures of the Kurdish tribes in Dirbêsiyê in the Cizirê Canton. Speaking to ANHA, tribal representatives emphasized that the primary mission of the delegation is to secure the constitutional recognition of the Kurdish people’s rights.
The delegation represents the people
Recalling that every government in the past has imposed oppression on the Kurdish population in Syria, Reshad Izzet Hec Khalil, a prominent figure of the Omeriyan tribe, stated the newly formed delegation legitimately represents the Kurdish population. Hec Khalil said, "This delegation has emerged from within the people. Its members have been engaged in political struggle for many years and are recognized by society. They will be there to defend the rights of the Kurdish people."
"The Kurdish people have lived in Syria for thousands of years," Hec Khalil said, adding, "Our history is deep, and our existence in these lands is undeniable. Therefore, we demand that our rights be constitutionally secured within a democratic framework. We will not settle for less."

They will strongly defend the people’s demands
Haj Jamal Haj Mansour, a leading figure of the Omera tribe, also highlighted that the members of the delegation come from within the Kurdish people and possess long-standing experience in the struggle: "This delegation knows very well about the oppression and injustice the Kurdish people have endured. Therefore, they carry both the trust and responsibility of the people. They will defend the people's demands in a consistent and effective manner."
Haj Mansour added: "Our main demands of the delegation are clear: the political and cultural rights of the Kurdish people must be explicitly secured in the Syrian constitution. In addition, a decentralized system of governance should be adopted, and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) must be recognized as a unified force within the Syrian army. The security of the areas liberated by our people through great sacrifices must also be constitutionally guaranteed."
