Lawyer Ünsal: We stand together against repression

The Solidarity for Justice Platform organized a protest for lawyers Ebru Timtik and Aytaç Ünsal on death fast demanding a fair trial.

A banner read "Let the demands of Ebru Timtik, Aytaç Ünsal, Özgür Karakaya and Didem Akman be accepted".

The message  sent by lawyer Aytaç Ünsal, who is continuing his death fast in the hospital where he was forcibly taken, was read to the crowd.

Ünsal has been on death fast for 202 days.

The message read: "They captured us in hospital cells to isolate us from you. Sorrow, little people thought we'd be alone around here. They are wrong. I'm there now. I stand with your friends against the cruelty. I fight for justice with you. Hospital corridors, walls, physical separations are just details.

You are there, we are fighting for justice here. Enough, enough! We will not be your slaves! We will get our rights! We will not be silent from now on!

And we're not just fighting for justice. Our struggle is also with fear and frustration. We are fighting the despair and disbelief injected into this land for years. Every leaflet you distribute, every poster you hang up, every person you talk to, every tweet you post, every action you take raises hope. It strengthens the faith. Health for your efforts, health for your resistance.

This resistance is our resistance. As we add our labor and struggle to this resistance, the struggle for justice will organize, neutralize the terror of the state, spread hope and mobilize those who have been silenced for years. Be sure then we will win the biggest victory. The more we resist, the more we win."

Ünsal underlined that "this week we are at a turning point. Ebru Timtik is now 30 kilos. Now let us double our shouting with anger at those who caused this. Those who do not want to hear should venture to remain deaf! Let's take what is our right.

I believe you will keep us alive with your efforts and struggles. I sincerely believe that we will get our right to a fair trial. Greetings to those who come together against cruelty. Greetings to those who resist for their honor. Thank you for your solidarity. I love you all."

Lawyer Ebru Timtik is now on her 232nd day of death fast.
