Ýbrahim Talat Güler, a 70-year-old prisoner held in Baþkale M Type Prison in Van, suffered a heart attack 48 days ago and fell into a vegetative state.

President Abdullah Gül, the Justice Ministry and authorities of judicial system have yet to respond to his family’s petitions to grant him a pardon as the current laws required. Besides, the prison administration has not granted the family permission to visit their relative.

According to medical reports, Güler might die at any moment while his family are left waiting in front of hospital to see him.

Güler’s son will apply to the Human Rights Association (IHD) to get legal help.
