Önder MP signed book on behalf of writers in prison

Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) deputy Sýrrý Süreyya Önder signed the story book “Waves hitting the shores. Stories from F-Type prisons” (Kýyýya Vuran Dalgalar) on behalf of the book's jailed writers. The book had also been signed by author Murathan Mungan in an earlier signature day on 2 June.

The book of short stories, whose photographs were taken by Murat Yazar, Paþa Ýmrek and Seda Öz, was written by prisoners Dilek Öz, Sami Özbil, Murat Saat, Edip Yalçýnkaya, Naif Bal, Diyadin Turhan, Nibel Genç, Mustafa Aðcakaya and Sibel Öz.

The book was compiled from the letters some political prisoners wrote to Deli Dalgalar (Crazy Waves) Initiative, a solidarity initiative with prisoners in Turkey.

The purchasers of the book were also given some letters written by political prisoners. One of the letters distributed among these letters was written by Musa Gündoðdu from Bolu F Type Closed Prison who says the followings;

“Dear friend,

Ada has been talking about this book on a live broadcast on Hayat TV.

Now, wherever you are, stand for a moment and do something pleasant that you feel like doing. I am of the opinion that identity is a matter related with a person’s performing actions; just like revealing the lie he tells to the people he loves. As you know, it is a great arrogance to say that ‘a person shouldn’t lie’. A person may tell a lie without even being aware of it. One day, I will tell a more beautiful lie to you as well.
