As the isolation on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan is aggravated even further for the past one year, his lawyers, family and the Kurdish people say his situation surpasses an isolation, and consider him to be “missing”.

Speaking to ANF, members of Istanbul Peace Mothers Initiative stated that Öcalan is a key for both peace and war, and stressed that the existence of Öcalan is the existence of the Kurdish people.

“LEADER APO IS THE WILL OF THE KURDISH PEOPLE”

Peace Mother Ezîne Dal reminded of their total lack of information about Öcalan for one year already and that only his brother could see him once for a short time. Dal pointed out that Öcalan is the peoples' key to peace and democracy, adding: "Our leader is significant not only for the Kurds but for the freedom of the Turkish people as well. The isolation imposed on our leader is an isolation on the Kurdish people as a whole."

Dal stated that the isolation on Öcalan has to be lifted at once and called on the AKP-Erdogan regime: "Erdoğan and the AKP should not attempt to fool themselves or others. The Kurds are a resistant people, until the end of the world will they be loyal to their Leader and never ever give up on him."

Dal stressed that Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan is the will of the entire Kurdish people, without whom -she said- the Kurdish people will be deprived of all meanings.

“THE WAR WILL NOT STOP WITHOUT HIM”

Sakine Güven pointed out that isolation is a severe crime, but they will never submit to those who perpetrate this terror on them no matter what, giving following message to the Turkish state and Erdoğan: "Do not test the patience of the Kurdish people. The Kurds will never knuckle down. When our leader Apo is kept away from us, peace will never prevail as will the flow of blood never cease."

Güven reminded of the deliberate withholding of the slightest information about Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, describing this situation as worse than isolation and said: "We are immensely worried. We can not receive even the smallest piece of information about our leader. We do not know what they have done to leader Apo. We demand a statement be given this instant on the state of condition of our leader and meetings with him be conducted."

YOU CANNOT FRIGHTEN THE KURDISH PEOPLE”

Emine Erbek stated that the AKP and Erdoğan regime are trying very hard to make the Kurdish people accept the isolation through fear and terror, and called upon all Kurds to take to the streets in protest at the isolation on Öcalan. Erbek remarked that the Kurdish people can not be frightened away from their leader and added that the Turkish state and Erdoğan are preparing their own end by aggravating the isolation on Öcalan.

CRITICISM AT DEMOCRATIC ORGANISATIONS AND PARTIES

Güler Buğday recalled that the isolation is hostilely used by the Turkish state as a state policy against Öcalan and drew attention to the importance of the efforts of the HDP (People's Democratic Party) and other organisations against the isolation. Buğday called for action from the institutions that are meant to lead the people and mobilize against the isolation, and emphasized that all political parties, democratic institutions, friendly circles, Turkish intellectuals and the people must immediately take action. Buğday continued saying:

"The isolation on Öcalan does not only impact the Kurds, but harbours also repercussions and grave results for the Turks and other peoples as well. For that reason all peoples and their representatives must rise up against the isolation on Öcalan. We expect the HDP to spearhead this process."

Buğday stated that the Kurdish people are prepared to pay any price necessary and ready to do everything needed for their Leader.
