It has been revealed that PKK inmates Cumali Karsu, Bayram Kaymaz and Hakkı Alpan, who were recently transferred from the Imralı island prison to the Tekirdağ F Type prison, are being held in solitary confinement.

Yesterday a PKK inmate in the prison, Abdulkadir Bozkurt, told his brother by telephone about the situation of the three prisoners. Serdar Bozkurt told ANF that the three inmates brought from Imralı had been coerced and that the other prisoners were worried about their situation.

Serdar Bozkurt said his brother had told him that psychological pressure had been stepped up in the prison and that the prison authorities had not allowed the prisoners to watch Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan’s letter being read out on television.

In the last 5 days PKK inmates have not been allowed out of their cells. Bozkurt called on human rights activists and lawyers to take action, saying that tension in the prison might boil over at any time.
