Bilal Akbaş, who has been imprisoned for 8 years in Bafra T-type Closed Prison in Samsun, said in a phone call with his family that political prisoners with health issues have not been allowed to visit a hospital for a long while.
Akbaş, who suffers from goiter and renal impairment, reported that political prisoners have been denied access to health care in hospital for 7 months since they have rejected the oral search imposed by the prison management during the transfer to hospital. He added that health conditions of sick prisoners are progressively deteriorating.
