Prisoner Tüzün kept in isolation for 10 days despite being seriously ill

Prisoner Ismail Tüzün in Kırşehir High Security Closed Prison has been kept in isolation for 10 days despite his serious illness.

VIOLATIONS OF PRISONERS' RIGHTS

Ismail Tüzün was deported from Adana Kürkçüler F Type Closed Prison to Kırşehir High Security Closed Prison on 8 March.

It was reported that he was subjected to a "mouth search" and "strip search". Ismail Tüzün has been in prison for 20 years.

Tüzün, who did not accept these abuses, was tortured by the guards and was put in a single cell. Despite his illness, Tüzün has been kept in solitary confinement for 10 days.

Tüzün has many health problems such as neck and lumbar hernia, diabetes, and stomach and intestinal tumour growth.

Tüzün, who was on the "ill prisoners" list of the Human Rights Association (IHD), denounced the abuses he suffered through his family, who called for public awareness.
