Prisoners hunger strike entered eighth day

The indefinite hunger strike, which was started by PKK (Kurdistan Workers’ Party) member prisoners for a solution to the Kurdish problem and to condemn the pressures on the Kurdish people, has entered its eight day. While the indefinite hunger strike continues in all prisons, prisoners and convicts made a call for sensibility, adding that the strike will not end until the demands of the Kurdish people for the problem are met by the government.

The hunger strike was started one month ago by PKK member prisoners and convicts and turned into indefinite as of May 9 in almost all prisons of Turkey including Antep, Adana Mersin, Diyarbakýr, Bingöl, Siirt, Batman, Urfa, Adýyaman, Mardin, Midyat, Tekirdað No 1 and 2, Kandýra No 1 and 2, Edirne, Gebze, Bakýrköy, Erzurum, Agrý, Bayburt, Bitlis, Mus and Silifke prisons.
