Reports say pressure against political prisoners continue to increase in all prisons. Prisoners on hunger strikes are subjected to new arbitrary practices.
Reports say the prisoners’ phone calls are cut off suddenly if they mention the hunger strikes. The practice increased after political prisoner Idris Duruk told his family on March 30 that another hunger striker had been hospitalized against his will and that the other prisoners hadn’t heard from him in days.
Political prisoners in all prisons have joined in the indefinite non-alternating hunger strikes on March 1, but hundreds had started months ago already. The prisoners who went on an indefinite non-alternating hunger strike in the Urfa Type T Prison on January 5 are at a critical stage.
