In Hatay, a group of young female prisoners started a hunger strike after a fellow inmate was put in solitary confinement when she refused to be strip-searched by prison guards.

An inmate who asked not to be named said that the heating system in the prison is turned off in midst of winter and the young prisoners are not allowed to buy their needs from the prison canteen.

In Denizli, young inmates told their families about sexual harassment in Denizli Juvenile Prison and started a hunger strike.
