An important landmark decision has been voted by the people's council in Western Kurdistan. The decision allows to suspend from membership any member of peoples council who wants to have a second-wife. The decision was made after a request from womens committee on the board of the meeting which was voted for by members later.
Members of womens committee said that decision was a mean to secure womens rights and to ensure that women are equal to men in all aspects of life. The womens committee also spoke of opening of new womens qualifying centers in a number of cities in addition to start new training courses special for women.
