Six political inmates in Urmia prison are at risk of imminent execution.

Five Kurdish and one Azerbaijani prisoners who have been jailed in the 12th ward have reportedly been taken to one-person cells.

Warning against imminent execution of the six inmates, local sources called for awareness and support for the prisoners on death row. International Federation for Human Rights President Abdülkerim Lahici and a number of non-governmental organizations called on everyone to act urgently for the six inmates who include Saman Naseem.

According to the procedures of the Iranian regime, the prisoners to be hanged are sent to a one-person cell one day before the execution.

The names of the six political prisoners are;

- Ali Afşari

- Habib Afşari

- Yunus Agayan (Azerbaijani)
