Zübeyde Teker, president of the Associations of Help for Prisoners' Families Federation (TUHAD-FED) has gone on hunger strike. Teker was taken into custody in Suruç Police Department on Tuesday has declared that she has gone on a hunger strike to protest the government’s prevention of the celebration planned in Amara for Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Öcalan’s birthday.

Teker has said that she will continue the hunger strike in prison if she is remanded in custody.
