Guerrilla forces hit the Turkish soldiers on operation in Esendere and Xeregol, leaving at least 10 soldiers dead amid ongoing clashes.

XEREGOL

The Turkish army’s operation targeting Zap region continues. Guerrilla forces carried out another action against the operation force at 06:00 Wednesday morning.

According to local sources, guerrillas detonated previously planted IEDs during the passing of a group of soldiers in the area. The action has reportedly resulted in casualties among the soldiers.

ÇUKURCA

Again Wednesday morning, guerrillas hit the Turkish soldiers in Bager hamlet in the countryside of Hakkari’s Çukurca district. 4 soldiers were killed and many others wounded as result of the action.

On October 23, guerrillas detonated IEDs in Xeregol region, resulting in casualties among Turkish soldiers. Turkish sources announced the death of a lieutenant in this action.

ESENDERE

On the other hand, the operation launched by the Turkish army on October 23 in the countryside of Esendere town, in Hakkari’s Yüksekova district, continues. 5 soldiers were killed as result of yesterday’s actions by guerrilla forces. Turkish soldiers started to raid villages in this region in the wake of the guerrilla actions.
