10 soldiers killed in ongoing guerrilla actions in Hakkari, Şırnak and Amed

HPG reported that at least 10 soldiers were killed in actions conducted by guerrillas in Hakkari, Şırnak and Amed provinces in North Kurdistan.

HPG (People's Defense Forces) Press Office released a statement providing information regarding the ongoing actions conducted by guerrillas against Turkish troops in North Kurdistan territory.

Accordingly, guerrillas hit the soldiers stationed in Mêrganış Castle in Hakkari's Çukurca district in the afternoon of October 9, which left 1 soldier dead and another wounded.

Within the scope of the Martyr Xebat Revolutionary Initiative, guerrillas carried out an action targeting a Turkish military unit, made up of 40 soldiers, disguised in Laleş and Meydana Zengılê areas in Şırnak's Beytüşşebap district at 13:15 on October 9. Guerrillas hit the emplacements of the Turkish unit here, leaving 8 soldiers dead and 6 others wounded. The action was carried out by HPG and YJA Star guerrillas in response to the October 9 international conspiracy against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and in memory of the guerrillas who fell in Faraşin region.

At 15:00 on October 9, guerrillas conducted a targeted action against the soldiers in Beyazçeşme outpost in Amed's Dicle district, as a result of which 1 soldier was killed.

Guerrillas performed road control in between Amed's Dicle district and Guleman area at between 15:00 – 16:00 on October 9. Guerrillas performed ID checks and informed the people about the current process.
