HPG Media Center announced that 20 soldiers and village guards were killed and 15 soldiers were injured during the car bomb action against Axê outpost on May 25.
In its statement, the Media Center said that HPG guerilla Dıjwar Wan carried out a car bomb action against Axê outpost located between the Kerboran (Dargeçit) and Midyat districts of Mardin at 19:30 on May 25. HPG stated that most of the outpost was destroyed, 20 soldiers and village guards were killed and 15 soldiers were injured during the action. The Media Center noted that one of the village guards killed during the action was Şexmus Koru, who was responsible for the martyrdom of a HPG guerillas in the 1990s.
HPG stated that the Turkish army retrieved the bodies of soldiers and village guards with ambulances, and launched an operation in the area after the action.
Lastly, HPG said that the attack was carried out in memory of Martyr Bedran Koçer and the martyrs of Kerboran and Hezex.
