74 people had headed to Amed's Lice district in the evening of June 27 to be human shields against the military operations and intervene with the forest fires in Amed’s Lice district but were stopped at the entrance of the district and taken into custody. 37 of them have been released out of the group that included HDP officials and DBP co-mayors.
The 37 people charged with “aiding and abetting a terrorist organisation” were brought to the Diyarbakır Court House following their check-ups in the hospital. 25 of them were released after they gave statements in the Prosecutor’s Office. 12 people were referred to court with a demand for their arrest but were released with “judicial control”.
Meanwhile, reports say the remaining 37 are still completing the procedures and will be referred to the court tomorrow.
