42 civilians evacuated from Nusaybin arrested

The 42 civilians evacuated in Nusaybin were arrested on charges of “disrupting the unity and integrity of the state”.

The state is trying to cover up its defeat in the face of the self government resistance with detentions and arrests.

On May 26, 42 civilians were detained as they were being evacuated from Êlîka (Yenişehir) neighborhood during the state forces’ genocidal attacks in Mardin’s Nusaybin district. The civilians have since been arrested.

The 42 civilians were transferred to the courthouse following the questioning in the police headquarters. They were all referred to court with demand of their arrest following their statements in the prosecutor’s office.

42 civilians referred to the Nusaybin Criminal Court, 12 of whom are children, were arrested on charges of “disrupting the unity and integrity of the state”.

Names of the 42 people transferred to Mardin Type E Closed Prison are as follows:

Fatma Aslan, Nurcan Aslan, Simanur Pamuk, Dilan Aslan, Çeçan Kilkaya, Baran Eman, Ercan Dolaşır, Deniz Kılıç, Heja Alğan, Şükrü Eybek, Barış Mutlu, Emre Topçuoğlu, Nurşan Demir, Yasemin Elkol, Medya Çınar, Azize Yıldırım, Bevar Başar, Hamit Acu, Tufan İlbaş, Dilber Tanrıkulu, Ramazan Eroğlu, Şeyhmus Koç, Mehmet Ziriğ, Abdulkadir Baybars, Recep Yel, Sadık Tan, Bayram Sevgim, Zübeyir Taylan, Mehmet Faruk Engin, Osman Bozkurt, Ömer Karataş, Fırat Dari, Mahsun Çay, Enes Taşkın, Mazlum Yaşa, İbrahim Halil Ildız, Rojhat Aydın, Mehmet Tahir, Özgür Sevim, Hicran Berna Ayverdi, Nubahar Özdemir, Akar İkbal.

The 25 civilians previously evacuated from the district were also arrested by the court. Erkan Benli and two others detained in the police station are transferred to the courthouse following their police statements.
