48 political prisoners in Amed subject to exile

48 political prisoners in Amed who include ill inmates are being exiled to Antep. 276 inmates in Amed have been transferred to prisons in various cities recently.

Pressures against political prisoners are growing within the scope of the State of Emergency declared following the failed coup attempt of July 15.

48 political prisoners in Diyarbakır E Type Closed Prison have been subject to exile. 24 of these have already been sent to Antep H Type Closed Prison and the rest will be exiled to Antep on August 8.

Diyarbakır TUHAD-DER co-chair Cahit Demirkıran stated that 276 prisoners have been exiled to various prisons recently and these include ill inmates Halil Güneş, Mehmet Emin Özkan, Adnan Yalçın, İnayet Mete, İsmail Tüzün and İsmet Ayaz.

According to reports, female prisoners are also facing a particular repression and subject to forced search by guardians and soldiers.
