Reports are coming through of blasts, clashes and police casualties in the province of Şırnak.

Şırnak's Yeni neighborhood has been shaken by 5 consecutive blasts Monday evening. According to some local sources, at least 5 special operation police have died in the blasts which occurred at the highway junction on the road leading to Cizre district.

The blasts were followed by clashes in the area to which a number of ambulances have been dispatched. While the region is also witnessing an intense helicopter activity, some other reports say a police service vehicle has been targeted by a missile attack, which has resulted in casualties.

While clashes are reported to be ongoing, police forces have laid a siege around Yeni neighborhood and started to attack it with heavy arms.
