HPG (People's Defense Forces) Press Office has released a statement reporting actions by guerrillas, and ongoing attacks by the Turkish military against PKK-held Medya Defense Zones in South Kurdistan territory.

4 SOLDIERS KILLED IN GABAR

According to the statement by Press Office HPG-BIM, guerrillas conducted an action against Turkish soldiers deployed on Hill Şerefiyê in Botan's Gabar area at 11:00 yesterday.

4 soldiers were killed in the action which was conducted from two sides and dedicated to recently martyred guerrilla Şoreş Botan (Nuri Akalın). Troops at TRT Gabar and Dara outposts shelled the scene with howitzer and mortar fire after the action.

ARMORED VEHICLE DAMAGED IN DARGEÇİT

HPG-BIM reported another action by guerrillas who targeted an armored vehicle in Mardin's Dargeçit district at 19:30 yesterday. While the number of casualties couldn't be verified, the armored vehicle was left damaged as a result of the action after which the guerrilla team reached their base safe.

OPERATION IN BİTLİS

On the other hand, the Turkish military started an operation in Martyr Mizgin area of Bitlis province at 03:00 on 24 November. While troops were deployed in Hulek village and the areas of Gırê Berana, Sırtı Hemkoka ve Sırtê İnin, soldiers raided houses of the local people living in the region.

Soldiers also set fire to the mosque and tents of human shields near Garzan Martyrs' Cemetery. The operation was retreated the same day, but covered units remain in the area.

ACTION AGAINST BİLİCAN OUTPOST

One other action by guerrillas targeted the Bilican outpost near the border to Zap region of Medya Defense Zones between 10.00 – 10.30 yesterday.

The outpost building was targeted and damaged by guerrillas in the action after which troops here bombed Marty Colomerg and Martyr Baran hill.

ONE POLICE KILLED IN SİVEREK

HPG-BIM stated that guerrillas conducted another action aimed at a police car patrolling near a cement plant in Urfa's Siverek district at 18:30 on 23 November. One policeman was killed and another was wounded in the action which was carried out in retaliation to the attacks against Nusaybin people.

ACTION BY YJA-STAR GUERRILLAS IN NUSAYBIN

HPG reported another action by a guerrilla unit affiliated to YJA-Star who targeted Gurinê outpost in Mardin's Nusaybin district at 16:00 on 23 November.

The action in retaliation to the attacks of state forces in the curfewed district left 3 soldiers dead, an A4 emplacement destroyed and the outpost building damaged. Following a short fighting in the area, guerrillas managed to reach their base safe while troops in the outpost bombed surrounding areas with tanks.

BOMBARDMENTS AGAINST GUERRILLA AREAS

HPG Press Office provided the following details regarding the ongoing Turkish bombardments against guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones;

Turkish jets shelled the surroundings of Bulofa and Şerane villages in Garê area between 16.00 – 18.00 yesterday. During the same hours, the area of Zap River was also hit by airstrikes.

Bilican outpost near Zap border shelled Erbiş village, Sêvê village, Dola Kınyanış, Zêvê village, Haydara village, Hill Alişêr foothills and Hill Martyr Colemerg between 06.00 – 07.00 yesterday.

Elemun outpost near Metina border shelled Martyr Dilber area between 14.00 – 15.30 yesterday.

Aruş outpost near Metina border shelled Hill Kuroşino between 14.00 – 15.00.

HPG also reported reconnaissance flights by Turkish aircraft over;

- Zap region between 13:30 yesterday and 06:00 today,

- Metina area between 02.00 – 04.00 today.

An activity of Turkish warplanes took place over;

- Zap region between 14.00 – 17.00 yesterday,

- Martyr Mizgin, Geliyê İpek and Martyr Cuma areas in Bitlis countryside between 17.00 - 23.00 on 23 November.
