In Yüksekova district of Hakkari where HDP received 93.7 percent of votes in November 1 election, special operation teams started an operation against Cumhuriyet neighborhood at 09:30 local time this morning.

While armored vehicles have blocked the traffic lane one-sidedly on the central Cengiz Topel Avenue, police forces are trying to enter the neighborhood by removing the barricade in a side street on Şemdinli route by means of armored diggers and panzers.

Residents have in the meantime gathered outside Mala Gel (People's House) and started resistance.

While police units in armored vehicles are opening random fire towards the neighborhood, special operation teams are firing teargas and hand grenades in the area of barricades.

Fire opened by police have left a youth wounded in the chest, who has been rushed to the district hospital by the residents.

More people are gathering in Cumhuriyet neighborhood to hinder a mass attack and killing by Turkish security forces that have started the operation for no reason.
