The AKP government continues to use refugees in Turkey as a blackmailing tool against Europe and as a means of preventing the gains of Kurdish people in Rojava. The AFAD Tent Camp in Suruç is one of the locations where jihadist gangs plot their attacks against the gains of people from Rojava. The AKP government continues to increase hatred for Kurds among Syrian refugees, and recently brought more than 500 ‘Syrians’ from Hatay to be placed in the camp in Suruç. According to the camp’s employees, these Syrians are not civilians but gang members preparing for war in Syria.

GANGS TO BE USED IN ATTACKS AGAINST ROJAVA

The gangs placed in Suruç Tent Camp had been promised to be placed on the border with Kobanê, and have been objecting to being hosted at the camp. The gangs placed in Suruç are preparing for an attack on Kobanê, similar to the recent assault on Girê Spî under YPG and YPJ control. Employees of the camp and local resources state that Turkey is about to use gangs in another of its attacks on Rojava.

SECRET GANG RECRUITMENT IN THE TENT CAMP

The gangs are reported to have arrived at the camp with their weapons and have been having arguments with camp officials because they insist on carrying out the attack on Rojava as soon as possible. Residents of Suruç are worried about the developments in the AFAD camp, which is the biggest camp in Turkey. Residents point out that no non-governmental organization is allowed into the camp, and prostitution and the trade of women became rampant inside the area. Locals argue that similar secret activities and gang recruitment efforts were also taking place in the AFAD camps in Harran and Akçakale.
