Awareness march against drugs to be held in Amed

The 'Be Aware! Platform Against Drugs' will organize a march in Amed today.

The 'Be Aware! Platform Against Drugs' ('Şiyar Be! Platforma Tekoşîna Li Dijî Tiryakê') will hold a march today, starting from Sheikh Said Square (Dagkapi) and continuing to Keci Burcu.

During the march, brochures will be distributed to the public to highlight the dangers of drug use.

The platform is calling on the entire public and democratic mass organizations to join the march in order to raise their voices against the addiction system that corrupts society, and to protect neighborhoods, children, and the future.

Journalist Hakkı Boltan, a member of the platform’s coordination committee, emphasized that society is reacting strongly to the drug problem and that this struggle requires continuity.

According to a report by Mezopotamya News Agency, Boltan said: “The existing system aims to corrupt society and make it dependent. The system promotes addiction in order to detach young people from their roots and keep them under its control. The people are aware of this, and they are reacting against it. We will organize these reactions and, together with society, expand our struggle against substance addiction.”

Boltan added: “The fight against drugs is a struggle to protect society, and we can only achieve this together.”
