DEM Party convenes to discuss the process and a roadmap

The main agenda of the meeting is the developments following Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan’s February 27 “Call for Peace and a Democratic Society”.

The Central Executive Committee (MYK) of the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) convened at its headquarters in Ankara under the presidency of Co-Chairs Tülay Hatimoğulları and Tuncer Bakırhan.

The main agenda of the meeting is the developments following Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan’s February 27 “Call for Peace and a Democratic Society”.

The meeting addresses the current stage of the process for a democratic and peaceful resolution to the Kurdish question, as well as the inconveniences experienced. Additionally, the meeting discusses in detail how the new process towards democratization in Turkey can be advanced and the role of political parties in parliament within this process.

The party will also evaluate Öcalan’s suggestions and messages regarding the process, preparations for planned actions and events to explain the new process to the public.

The DEM Party aims to establish direct contact with the people through 1,950 public meetings, “Democracy Festivals,” and various regional gatherings in the coming period.

Following the MYK meeting, party spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan will hold a press conference at the DEM Party Headquarters to provide details on the meeting's agenda.
