Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Amed Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor Candidate Selçuk Mızrak cast his vote at Cemar Özgür Primary School, in the old borough of Sur.

Mızraklı said: "We are facing a difficult period when considering the national conditions. I hope the will of the people will be respected. The peoples of Turkey deserve a bright future and it is in the best interest of everyone to have an election atmosphere that will reinforce and promote democracy and justice."

Co-Mayor candidate Hülya Alökmen Uyanık cast her vote at the Anatolian Imam Hatip High School in Kayapınar district.

Uyanık said: "In Diyarbakır, citizens started to cast their votes since the early hours of the morning. Our hope and our wish is to contribute to Turkey's democratization in these elections. We have worked with this hope for two months. Elections are important both for the strengthening of local governments and for the democratization of the country."

HDP Amed deputies and central district co-mayor candidates went to the schools where they were registered to cast their votes.
