At least 8 soldiers killed in Zap

Guerrillas continue inflicting heavy blows to the Turkish occupation army in Kurdistan territory.

Guerrillas of the HPG (People’s Defense Forces) and YJA Star (Free Women’s Troops) are putting up resolute resistance against the Turkish invasion operation in the Zap and Avaşin regions of the guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq), ongoing since April 14.

HPG Press Office reported on Sunday that guerrillas struck the Turkish occupation forces deployed around the Girê Cehennem battle positions in Çiyareş Resistance Area in Zap earlier today.

The action left 8 soldiers of the Turkish army dead, HPG stated.

HPG announced its one-month war balance sheet earlier today. Accordingly, 427 Turkish soldiers were killed, many military vehicles and materials were destroyed, including 1 Sikorsky helicopter and 1 tank. 25 guerrillas fell as martyrs in the invasion attacks.
