People’s Defense Forces (HPG) Press Office has reported in a written statement that attacks by the Turkish army against guerrilla-held areas continue. While military posts at the border of Medya Defense Zones shelled Hill Yekmal, Bektorya and Deriyê Davetiya areas in Heftanin area, Turkish jets shelled Martyr Viyan territory. Reconnaissance flights by Turkish unmanned aerial vehicles also continue over the guerrilla areas.
HPG reported that Martyr Viyan territory in Heftanin area of Medya Defence Zones was shelled by Turkish jets at between 16.00 - 17.00 on October 17.
Regarding the bombardments launched from border military posts with tanks, mortars and howitzers, HPG provided the following details:
- Troops at Yekmal Hill and Maymun military posts at Heftanin border shelled Bektorya and Deriyê Davetiya areas at between 14.00 - 16.00 on October 17.
- Troops at Eriş military post at Zap border shelled Martyr Baran area with the support of drones at between 13.30 - 14.00 on October 17.
- Troops at Rubarok military post at the border of Xakurkê shelled Kanireş area at between 18.00 - 19.00 on October 17.
- Troops at Mamreş military post at Avashin border shelled Hill Ronahi area at between 19.00 - 21.00 on October 17.
- Troops at Bezelê military post shelled Hill Sor at between 17.30 - 18.00 on October 17 and at between 01.00 - 05.00 on October 18.
- Troops at Oremar military post shelled Martyr Gafur area at between 04.00 - 06.00 on October 18.
HPG went on reporting the reconnaissance flights carried out by Turkish unmanned vehicles over the following guerrilla held areas:
- Zap region at between on October 17,
- Metina area at between 15.30 - 16.30 on on October 17,
- Heftanin area at between 20.00 - 00.00 on October 17.
HPG lastly reported an intense activity of Turkish jets over Zap region at between 07.30 - 10.30 on October 17.
