A blast has occurred at the Makhmur (Martyr Rüstem) Camp near Makhmur town of Southern Kurdistan Wednesday evening.

The blast at 18:30 o’clock has reportedly resulted in casualties.

According to local sources, the explosion was result of an assassination attack by Turkish-backed forces against the security units protecting the people in the camp.

A statement is expected to be made on the details of the attack in the coming hours.
