Body of Evin Öz, one of the dozens who were murdered while waiting for an ambulance in one of the basements of atrocity in Cizre, has been given to her family 21 months later.
Evin Öz was one of the dozens who were burned to death by Turkish state forces while waiting for an ambulance in one of the basements of atrocity in Şırnak’s Cizre district during the curfew between 14 December 2015 and 2 March 2016.
The family learned about the death of their daughter in one of the Cizre basements three months ago and appealed to Cizre Public Prosecutor’s Office with a blood sample for identification.
After the match of DNA samples, body of Evin Öz was exhumed from the Cemetery of the Nameless in Şırnak’s Silopi district where it had been buried.
The body was received by the family and will reportedly be buried in Mardin’s Nusaybin district.
