The police check point in front of AKP Van provincial directorate in Van's Beşyol area was targeted by a bomb-laden vehicle at around 11:00 Monday morning.

The very huge blast was followed by gunshots while armored vehicles and ambulances were dispatched to the scene amid reports of injuries and deaths.

The building of AKP provincial office was greatly demolished as a result of the action. Water cannons extinguished the fire started by the bombing.
