The KNK has issued a call for action against Kurdish prisoner Ramîn Huseyn Penahî who has been sentenced to death by the Iranian regime.
Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) Executive Council issued a written statement and demanded the Iranian regime stop issuing death penalties.
The KNK statement that includes information on Ramîn Huseyn Penahî’s situation is as follows:
“On June 23, 2017 three freedom fighters Sebah Huseyn Penahî, Hamid Seyf and Behzad Nûrî were murdered in an Iranian regime attack and their bodies were not delivered to their families. Ramîn Huseyn Penahî was captured in a wounded state. For a while, there was no information on him. Later on, it came to light that he had been tortured and pressured by the Iranian regime.
The dictatorial regime of the last 40 years in Iran continues its invasion and oppressive practices in every sense, particularly in Kurdistan. As the inhuman treatment continues with death penalties, they even refuse to deliver the bodies to their families.
Today, the biggest population in Iranian dungeons is Kurds who defend democracy. The global public knows this very well.
On February 25, 2018, Ramîn Huseyn Penahî was sentenced to death. The Iranian regime must end the oppression and tyranny. All politicians in Iran should speak up to prevent executions and take action.”
