Co-chairs of DBP-held municipalities to hold emergency meeting in Amed

Co-chairs of DBP-held municipalities in the Kurdish region will hold an emergency meeting in Amed tomorrow to discuss the AKP government's attempts of elimination against elected representatives of the Kurdish population.

Co-chairs of municipalities held by Party of Democratic Regions (DBP) in the Kurdish region will hold an emergency meeting in Amed tomorrow to discuss the AKP government's attempts of elimination against Kurdish politicians. Important decisions are expected to be taken at the meeting which will witness an assessment of the general situation by co-chairs.

DBP co-chairs Kamuran Yüksek and Emine Ayna will also attend the meeting which will begin at 10:00 tomorrow morning and handle one single subject; AKP government's attempts to eliminate the elected representatives of the Kurdish population.

19 CO-CHAIRS JAILED, 18 SUSPENDED FROM POSITION SINCE JULY

Within the scope of the AKP government's operations of political genocide since after the month of July, 19 co-mayors of DBP-held municipalities have been jailed and 18 others were suspended from position alongside nearly 50 members of municipal councils. Many workers of different municipalities have also been jailed.

On the other hand, Turkish authorities have seized many heavy construction equipment and vehicles of Dicle, Silvan, Sur, Kulp, Bismil and Lice municipalities in Amed province.
