Police forces conducted simultaneous raids in Yüksekova and Çukurca districts of Hakkari this morning.

Many municipality workers including Co-mayor Adile Kozay have been taken into custody in Yüksekova. Police forces are now conducting a search in the municipality building.

During the same hours, police forces also carried out house raids in Çukurca and detained Co-mayors Hilal Duman and Servet Tunç, Deputy mayor Hıdır Demiroğlu, HDP district co-chair Cumhur Erdemir, municipality employee Ferhem Akgüz, former mayor Mehmet Kanar, MEYADER representative Kazım Tekinalp, Osman Kanar and Remzi Kanat.
Police forces are conducting a search in the municipality building which has been surrounded with armored vehicles.
