Control over the village of Tilezer in southern Kurdistan has been handed over to the Shengal Autonomous Assembly and the Yazidi security forces.
The village of Tilezer in the Shengal territory was occupied by the so-called Islamic State (IS) in 2014 and later freed by the Iraqi military and the Shiite militia Hashd al-Shaabi.
On Tuesday, control of the village was handed over to the Shengal Autonomous Assembly and the Êzîdxan Asayish (Yazidi Land Security Forces) following a press briefing which was attended by administrators from the Shengal Autonomous Assembly, Êzîdxan Asayish and Hashd al-Shaabi.
Speaking here, Hashd al-Shaabi regional spokesman Abu Abdo said that: “The control and administration of the village has been entrusted to the Shengal Autonomous Assembly and the Êzîdxan Asayish."
