Mardin Governorate has announced that the curfew declared on March 14 has been extended for 30 days. The Governorate’s announcement states that the curfew partialy lifted after 134 days in Yenituran, Yeşilkent, Mor Yakup, 8 Mart, Gırnavas, Devrim, Selahaddin Eyyubi, Çatalözü, İpekyolu and Barış neighborhoods will be reinstated on August 24 for a 30 day period between hours 23:00 and 05:00.
The Governorate’s announcement also states that the curfew will continue in Abdülkadirpaşa, Fırat, Dicle, Yenişehir, Kışla and Zeynelabidin neighborhoods, now surrounded by barbed wire following the genocidal attacks against the self-rule resistance, due to “search missions”.
