Curfew in 19 villages in Bitlis

The Turkish army has announced an operation in the Kurdish province of Bitlis. A curfew has been imposed on almost twenty settlement areas. For the inhabitants, the measure means a complete isolation from the outside world.

Bitlis Governor’s Office has announced a curfew in 19 villages and hamlets after the announcement of a Turkish military operation in the region. The ban has been in force since midnight, but it is not clear when it will be lifted.

The areas affected by the measure are Çobansuyu, Aşağıçobansuyu, Akgün, Kutlu, Güllüce, Dikme, Aşağıdikme, Yukarıdikme, Esenburun, Beşkaynak, Bayırlı, Kınalı, Uçankuş, Yarönü, Dursun, Aşağıyolak, Yukarıyolak, Aşağıkoçak and Çeltikli. For the local residents, the curfew means complete isolation from the outside world.
