A curfew has been imposed in Sur district of Amed after the murder by police of Diyarbakır Bar Association Head Tahir Elçi Saturday noon.

According to a statement by Diyarbakır Governor's Office, the curfew in Cevatpaşa, Dabanoğlu, Fatihpaşa, Hasırlı, Savaş, Cemal Yılmaz neighborhoods and Gazi Street has gone into effect as of 13:00 today, and will last until a further notice.
