DBP (Party of Democratic Regions) Amed branch has released a written statement about the ongoing state terror in the central Sur district of Amed.
Noting that the curfew in the district remains in effect, DBP said there is already a critical shortage of water, foodstuff and medicine, while power is also cut in many neighborhoods.
“A total of 25 people, who include 2 elderly, 15 children and 8 women, have been wounded in Sur district so far, while fire opened from helicopters burned 18 houses and the civilians living in these houses could hardly save their lives. Bombs fired from helicopters hit and damaged 2 houses, which left 2 women and 2 children wounded. The condition of those injured is getting severer as police still deny access to hospital. A bakery providing free bread for people was obstructed by police on the fourth day of the curfew, because of which the neighborhoods under curfew face a threat of hunger.”
DBP said that on the other hand police have started to conduct house raids, as part of which many people including Muazzez Aşan (47), mother of 6, were taken into custody.
