DBP and HDP administrators detained in Bitlis
A number of DBP and HDP administrators have been taken into custody during house raids conducted by police and military forces in Ahlat, Norşin and Adilcevaz districts of Bitlis.
A number of DBP and HDP administrators have been taken into custody during house raids conducted by police and military forces in Ahlat, Norşin and Adilcevaz districts of Bitlis.
Police forces raided a number of houses in Ahlat, Norşin and Adilcevaz districts of Bitlis early Tuesday morning. Many administrators from DBP (Democratic Regions' Party) and HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) were detained in the operation.
Those detained in Ahlat's Ovakışla town include co-chair Ahmet Demir, co-mayor Ahmet Demir, Municipal Council members Mustafa Toprak and Yaşar Koçeroğlu, and DBP former administrator Şahbettin Akın.
While the reason for detentions was not disclosed, it is yet unknown where the detainees have been taken to.
Ovakışla co-mayor Pervîn Karakoç was also detained as a result of a house raid last night.
During the house raids in Adilcevaz district, HDP co-chair Suphi Tarmaşır and DBP district administrator Eşref Kolçak were detained and taken to district police headquarters.
Soldiers also conducted house raids in Morx village of Güroymak district, and detained DBP Provincial General Council Member İsa Erkoç.
