DBP calls for uninterrupted protest against murder of Elçi

DBP (Party of Democratic Regions) Headquarters called upon all provincial, district and town organisations and the public opinion to take action against the practices of massacre targeting the people and to stage uninterrupted protest.

DBP (Party of Democratic Regions) Headquarters has called for uninterrupted protest in response to the murder of Diyarbakır Bar Head Tahir Elçi in Amed's central Sur district earlier today.

Drawing attention to the ongoing state terror in Kurdistan, DBP said; “The state's policy of massacre persists without interruption. The policy of systematic massacre has proved itself to be limitless and wide open with the murder of Amed Bar Head Tahir Elçi in Amed's Sur district.”

Recalling that human rights defender Elçi has been pointed as a target by the AKP government, its judiciary and press for a while because of his remarks, DBP noted that he Elçi been assassinated today following a press release against the ruining of the Four Footed Minaret and other historical structures in Amed's Sur district.

DBP said the systematic attacks of the AKP government continue to claim lives across Kurdistan territory, mainly in Cizre, Silvan, Nusaybin, Derik, Gever and Silopi.

Party of Democratic Regions Headquarters ended its statement by calling upon all provincial, district and town organisations and the public opinion to take action against the practices of massacre targeting the people, to say ‘Êdî Bes e’ [Enough] to the policies of genocide, and to stage uninterrupted protest.
