DBP Co-chair Sebahat Tuncel and DTK Co-chair Leyla Güven held a press conference in the DBP provincial branch. 

Güven protested the detentions of last night and said: "Words have become obsolete. Today is the day to resist. Today is the day to scream against fascism on every street."

Tuncel emphasized that the detention of HDP MPs is a coup and said: "As of last night, the true owner of the coup has been exposed clearly."

"The true owner of this coup is the AKP government and the Palace," said Tuncel and continued: "This is abolishing freedoms and disregarding democracy."

Tuncel called on the peoples of Turkey and said: "Today is the day for everyone to take to the streets. All must come together around HDP. If not now, when? Today is the day to resist. Today is the day to protect our future. We will be in resistance everywhere we are against the coup. Nobody should fool themselves, we will never give up on the struggle for democracy and freedom."
