Party of Democratic Regions (DBP) co-chair Kamuran Yüksek has been detained in the province of Kars early this morning after arriving in the city for Newroz celebrations yesterday.

Yüksek was detained by anti-terror police in the hotel where he was staying, and taken to provincial police headquarters.

No information was immediately available as to the reason for Yüksek's detention.
