DBP: Kobanê resistance become a hope for freedom and a model for struggle

“We celebrate World Kobanê Day, and we call on the Kurdish people, organizations and political parties to protect the values and achievements of the Kurdish people. We are marching to freedom through Kobanê,” DBP said.

The Democratic Regions Party (DBP) released a written statement to mark 1 November, World Kobanê Day.

“The Kobanê resistance in Rojava coalesced into an international struggle and spread all over the world. It has become a hope for the freedom of the oppressed. The resistance of Kurdish women represented by Arin Mirkan became a model for struggle for the women of the Middle East and the entire world against tyrants. A recent example of this is the popular revolts in Iran and East Kurdistan, which have emerged following the murder of Jîna Amini under the motto "Jin Jiyan Azadi" (Woman, Life, Freedom). This iconic slogan which spread from Rojava has become a cry for freedom for women of the world. Kobanê represents an important milestone for the Kurdish people,” the statement said.

The DBP pointed out that with the cooperation and permission of international forces, the AKP-MHP government invaded Girê Spî, Serê Kaniyê and Afrin, plundering and changing their demographic structures with the help of mercenary groups.

“We celebrate World Kobanê Day, and we call on the Kurdish people, organizations and political parties to react to these attacks and to protect the values and achievements of the Kurdish people. We are marching to freedom through Kobanê,” it concluded.
