Death toll in copper mine landslide in Siirt rises to 8

The death toll is rising in the landslide in a copper mine in Siirt’s Şirvan district.

Rescue efforts continue at the copper mine where a landslide occurred on November 17 in Şirvan district of Siirt.

With the extraction of one more body from the copper mine, the number of miners who lost their lives in the landslide has risen to 8.

Body of another miner, Kasım Tari, has been retrieved from the mine today. Tari's body has been taken to Siirt State Hospital.

Rescue efforts for 8 trapped workers continue.

The copper mine, operated by a private company, is located in Maden village 12 km west of Şirvan district.

10- Halil Başer: Truck driver (Siirt, Kurtalan district)

11- Mahmut Batumak: Truck driver (Şirvan district, Taşkaya village)

12- Bedrettin Caylı: Truck driver (Şirvan district, Yatağan village)

13- Nusret Beyazalma: Truck driver (Van, Edremit district)
