Earthquake in Karlıova results in injuries

The earthquake caused material damage in many houses and workplaces and reports speak of injuries in the village of Yedisu.

Reports are coming through of injuries following the eathquake that struck the village of Yedisu in Bingöl’s Karlıova district Sunday afternoon.

According to Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute, the 5.8 magnitude earthquake at 5 km depth occurred at 17:24 local time.

The earthquake, which lasted around one minute, was followed by aftershocks that were also felt in the surrounding cities including Erzurum, Malatya, Muş, Elazığ and Dersim.
