HDP Şırnak parliamentarian Ferhat Encü, who had been released after getting arrested during the operation against the HDP that began on November 4 and jailed for 104 days, was re-arrested in Şırnak after the objection of the prosecutor.
Mother Halime Encü spoke to ANF and said "Those that bombarded and massacred us killed us once again. They gave us pain for the second time. I will never forgive them. I do not accept what is taking place. Ferhat was fighting for justice for Roboski. This is why they are scared. They did not let us see him at the airport. I am very angry at them."
Veli Encü, the brother of Ferhat Encü and the president of Roboski-Der, said that they suspected that something was going to happen when they saw the high number of police officers at the airport, and said "We thought that, if there was a problem, they would arrest him in Istanbul. We learned that they arrested him when he landed in Şırnak, but we could not get any information from anyone. They treated us very badly at the airport. They were trying to hide the situation. The unlawful incident was uncovered when the lawyers intervened."
Veli Encü recalled that Şırnak 2nd Heavy Penal Court had rejected the prosecutor's request that Ferhat Encü gets re-arrested, and said "The court stood by its decision and rejected the arrest request. They kidnapped Ferhat Encü after they received an instruction from somewhere. There is a system in Şırnak that functions with the instructions of the current government. They prevent people from unfolding the laws. There is an illegality but nobody can intervene. Such a treatment is unacceptable."
Veli Encü emphasized that as the families that lost their relatives during Roboski Massacre, they became reminded of 'the processes of illegality' and said "The courts did not have the courage of handling the case. They closed the case after they received an instruction. They were scared of Ferhat Encü. They were scared that he would come to Şırnak and continue his work. They were scared that he would speak about the illegalities that have taken place here. They are sure that the people of Şırnak will vote 'No', and this is their message to the people."
